Mike's Musings

I'll be posting my musings from time to time on various subjects some just because I feel like it, others because I'm mad, still others because I want to make the world a better place. Now that the "d" is done, it's time to move on to other things. I'm reminding myself that life is just too short to focus on just one thing.

Is there any reason for being a Jerk?

I've seen a lot of things lately that I find amusing. For example, Jerks seem to get all the women they can handle, yet nice guys (whom the women are wishing for) get shafted. Why is that?

The Devil Attacks

What can I say, the Devil is doing his best right now to keep me down. I swear I'm feeling like his goal is to make me physically ill. After preaching on Saturday, I had a headache that lasted until late Sunday night (almost 30 hours). This morning, I've got a wierd cough that came from out of nowhere. Just keep me in your prayers this week, o.k.

2nd sermon

I'm preaching again. And this time, I'm not nearly as prepared as the last time. Something about "d" makes you so tired and emotional that things get screwed up. I've been so exhausted lately that I feel like someone that a steam roller came and squashed! Well, pray for me that I don't make a big fool of myself.

Why must people...

...decide that killing themselves and others in an orchestrated fashion is the way to make a statement for whatever cause they feel they need to promote? Do they really think that the negative publicity is still publicity and will rally more people to their cause? As we have seen in London and Iraq these past few days, that is not the case, yet they continue to try. If any of you understands the reason behind this insanity, please explain it to me.

Pray for the folks in London

For the few of you who don't know, there were several bombs that went off in London this morning. Please pray for the victims and their families as they will be having a lot to deal with over the next few months.

I Hate Being Single.

After the soon to be "ex" moved out, well I've been shopping, socializing and cleaning. Let me tell you, I didn't like being single the first time, and I like it even less now. I am not into the club scene, and I don't drink, so basically, I'm a goody-goody (and that makes things really hard). So, I'm trying a cooking/baking class in the next few weeks and I have no idea how that will go, but I hope to have fun. I am however, re-discovering bowling and karaoke, so I guess that's a plus.

If only I could squeeze in 30 hours in a day....
