Am I a fool?

I swear that I love where I live and where I work, but I can't say the same for the people that live in the surrounding area. Lately, especially, it seems that a vast majority of folks have become selfish and self-absorbed. It's as if they all went through some portal and came out the other side doing nothing but serving themselves and not considering that there are others around them. Maybe it's just that I'm having to look at things differently now, but it sure seems like it.
