Mike's Musings

I'll be posting my musings from time to time on various subjects some just because I feel like it, others because I'm mad, still others because I want to make the world a better place. Now that the "d" is done, it's time to move on to other things. I'm reminding myself that life is just too short to focus on just one thing.

I feel like such an idiot!

Well, I decided to go out dancing last night for no real reason other than to get out of my house and get away from doing the term paper that I have to do. That was a good thing for me as I found a dance partner that I'd like to get to know better...that is, if I knew her name and phone number! Even though we've seen each other and danced together a couple of times in the past, we have never formally introduced ourselves (which is why I don't know her name). Anyway, last night, we literally danced most of the night away (if you can call almost 3 hours straight that). Before she left, she wrote her number in my PDA, but goofy me didn't do something right and now it's gone (of course being up @ 2:30am is crazy for me to begin with). So, not only do I not know her name, now I'm probably going to be labeled a jerk because I can't call her. What can I do since she doesn't go to the dance hall often? Got any ideas? Maybe I'm just sunk!

It's Done....the "D", that is....

Well, it's official. I am now a part of the single again crowd. When I think about this past year, all I see is misery, but not from my side. I've done more things in this past year than I'd done in the previous few. I've decided that I won't take this lying down, and I have decided to live my life to the fullest I possibly can. Just living life has it's risks, so why not take a few. I'll have to say, I've enjoyed more of this year than almost any of my previous 35!

Is there a reason...

...for being rude to another human being? I just want to know what is going on in this world today! Everywhere I look people are being rude, selfish and inconsiderate of others. Why? I can understand it if you are sick (whether physically or mentally), but normal, regular everyday folk??? Come on, I drive on the road with nobody behind me for a long distance, yet someone has to pull out right in front of me like I don't even exist! Then there was the grocery check-out where someone decided to purchase a full cart of stuff in the express lane (with many other irate people behind her). Next was the pedestrian crosswalk outside my complex, where someone wanted to cross the street (which I stopped for as they were in the crosswalk), but someone in a big SUV didn't want to yield to them and actually stepped on the gas and honked at them!

I take it common courtesy is no longer available on Planet Earth? I sure hope not. Otherwise, we're in for a world of trouble!

Today, the burial of a marriage is complete....I don't think I should say anything more.
