Mike's Musings

I'll be posting my musings from time to time on various subjects some just because I feel like it, others because I'm mad, still others because I want to make the world a better place. Now that the "d" is done, it's time to move on to other things. I'm reminding myself that life is just too short to focus on just one thing.

Trip to see the folks

I'm taking a short break and will probably be back on Tuesday. I'm heading home to visit the folks and get their opinion on my personal issues. That may or may not be a bad thing. Who knows. Anyway, remember our troops who sacrificed their lives for our freedom.

Have a great Memorial Day!

Comments on the Senate Compromise

South Knox Bubba comments on the "compromise" by the moderates on the confirmation of nominees. As a modeate myself, I applaud the wisdom that moderates on both sides came together and decided to keep the filibuster intact. Sure, Democrats are fuming that Bush gets votes on most of his blocked justices, but get over it. Bush doesn't get all of them. Conservative Republicans will get their up or down votes, but they really wanted that "nuclear option" to pass. Well, guess what, remember when y'all were in the minority, those cycles continue to come around and if that option had passed, it would have been used against you!

Anyway, its probably time for the moderates to create their own party (if only it weren't so hard to crack the 2 party system).

Well, duh...

The life of Job...

Well, I think I'm getting ready to live the life of Job. If you don't know of whom I'm talking about, go and read your Bible. Here I am thinking that my life was nice, but now it's taken a decided turn for the worse. How long this will be, I have no idea, but just pray for me while I take this wild ride wherever it may lead me.

World Trade Center

NOT being a New Yorker, I obviously don't have a say in the matter. However, as an American I think that it's time to get over these "freedom tower" illusions and start re-building the original towers. How would East Tennesseeans like it if someone decided to take out the Smoky Mountains and replace it with a mole hill? Well, that's what's being proposed for the WTC site. That's just plain stupid.

Well duh...

Greatest Nightmares Come True

Ever have a nightmare that came true? Well one of mine did this past week. I'm not going to say what it is, but it's not good. Anyway, please keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I try to resolve the situation with God's help. Its obvious that the devil is out there and seeking anyone and everyone that he can take with him to the gates of hell, and this time he's decided to mess with my family. Well, I'd better get back to praying and listening to what God wants me to do in this situation. Thanks in advance.

Heading Offline

I've grown to like blogging, but I've got some personal stuff to deal with and will probably only be "musing" once in a while for the next few (weeks/months/years/who knows). Anyway, just keep me in your thoughts & prayers. Thanks.
